Visiting the website

For your browser to display this website, your IP address has to be transmitted to our web server. This processing is technically necessary to deliver the page to you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is operating the website).

We operate the web server ourselves, on a rented virtual server from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in Nuremberg, Germany.

Access log

Each time a page is requested, our web server logs a truncated IP address (for IPv4 the last part is set to 0, for IPv6 only the first 48 bits are kept), the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from (referrer), your browser's identifier (user agent), the status code of the response and the amount of data transferred. We do not store your full IP address.

We use the log to operate and secure the website, for example to detect errors and attacks, and for anonymous visitor statistics, such as how many visitors find us through search engines or AI services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is operating the website securely and improving it).

The entries are deleted automatically after 14 days. They are evaluated only on our own server, with the open-source software GoAccess; we do not pass them on to third parties. The server's technical error and startup messages contain no visitor IP addresses.

No cookies, no tracking, no third parties

We use no cookies and no tracking tools, use no third-party analytics services, and load no content from third parties: fonts, images and scripts are served exclusively from our own server.

If you change the appearance (light, dark, auto), your browser stores that choice locally on your device (localStorage, key vc-theme). It is not transmitted to us and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings.

Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your enquiry and, where relevant, to prepare an offer (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The message box in the Contact section only opens your own email program; the website itself neither transmits nor stores the text.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Just write to the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Changes

We update this notice when the website or the way it is operated changes. The version published here applies.
